Breckenridge Adaptive Ski Clinic Colorado / Dec. 13-19, 2008

If you have experienced changes in your health over the last few years that have affected your ability to ski the way you are accustomed to skiing, join us for our Adaptive Ski Clinic in Breckenridge! A few years ago OTHGI Co-Owners Doug Lofland and Jeannie Barresi became familiar with the Breckenridge Outdoor

Education Center when their daughter learned to ski in BOEC programs. They have been inspired to offer this same opportunity to OTHGI members who have become disabled or now have special needs but want to continue skiing and enjoying time with their OTHGI friends.

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center will provide an experienced private instructor, a BOEC-trained volunteer assistant, and all specialized equipment necessary for you as you learn to ski in a new way. You will have five full-day lessons with a one-hour break for lunch each day. The BOEC offers instruction at all levels, so you can expect an exciting and challenging week!

Breckenridge, along with the other Summit County ski areas

Keystone and Arapahoe Basin, is often preferred by Coloradans since it’s only a 2-hour drive from Denver and has a wide variety of terrain on its four peaks, including several “bowls” for experts. The town itself (formerly a gold-mining settlement) is the largest historic district in

Colorado and has a friendly, energetic atmosphere.

We’ll stay at the Great Divide Lodge. This slopeside hotel is conveniently located on Peak 9 just 50 yards from the lifts and only two blocks from Main Street where you’ll find an abundance of lively restaurants and fun shops always lit with twinkling white lights. As always, we’ll get together for a few dinners and hospitality hours, so there will be plenty of time to spend in the entertaining company of other OTHGI members. For your comfort and

convenience, all OTHGI social events will take place in the hotel.

The price for this trip is based on one adaptive skier traveling with one companion. If you are considering coming on your own or with a non-skiing companion, please call the office to discuss.
