Breckenridge Solo* Ski Week     Colorado / Dec. 13-19, 2008

Get together with OTHGI friends for this year’s solo ski trip!  This trip is designed for you if you are traveling by yourself, regardless of marital or attachment status.  There’ll be plenty of friendly fellow skiers and boarders, so you won’t have to ski, ride or dine alone!

IMPORTANT: If you’re interested in a trip only for unmarried and unattached skiers, check out our Telluride Singles trip (page 34 in our catalog)

Breckenridge is Summit County’s largest ski area, with 155 trails and several “bowls,” including some that are accessible only by hiking up from the top of the lift.  The reward is a great view and exhilarating challenge!  Two other Colorado favorites, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin, are also located in Summit County.  We’ll have the chance to ski at all three, plus the occasion to meet local members and whoever shows up from around the state for the OTHGI Guided Ski Days during the week. There are often over 200 OTHGI skiers on these days! “…I loved spending the day with the local Over the Hill Gang group and going to their party,” says Patricia, who participated in last year’s Solo trip.

If you want a break from skiing, there’s plenty of other entertainment to be found in this former gold-mining town. Outdoor activities include cross-country skiing at the Frisco Nordic Center, ice-skating, snowshoeing, dog-sledding, snow-mobiling and, believe it or not, winter fly-fishing.  You can also tour museums, descend 1,000’ into an old mine, take an art class or visit a spa.  Naturally, you’ll find plenty of

shopping, too, if you want to buy anything from souvenirs to full-length furs.

We’ll be staying at the Great Divide Lodge.  This hotel, with a sunny atrium and massive fireplace in the lobby, is located within 50 yards of the Peak 9 lifts and two blocks from historic Main Street.  There are indoor and outdoor hot tubs, an

indoor pool, and a fitness center with sauna for relaxing at the end of the day.

As always, there will be some dinners and social time so we can enjoy a chat and get to know each other in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a trip with the Gang.  In the words of Judith, “OTHGI does an excellent job of taking care

of us.”
